While I agree that the political left has much to answer for, I'm reluctant to concede that the crimes of the political left are the equivalent of the right. We're only a few months removed from a very real attempt from the political right to overthrow our whole government. The FBI designates white supremacy as the greatest current threat to our way of life, and that's the bedrock of right wing political support. In most situations, I will listen to the position of the other side. However, when the other side insists that my non-white children are less than human, the time for polite dialogue has ended.

I do agree that our whole political system needs to be revamped. But right now we're in an ongoing battle with fascism and that needs to be our focus.

I do think I see what you're getting at. Not too long ago I wrote an article about how we need to discard the representative republic in favor of direct public voting. Thanks for the comment.
