Yeah, I have a similar mindset. I was just reflecting on how much of who I am today is a result of rejecting the things I was trained to believe. The whole Trump fanaticism is a deranged conspiracy. His followers regularly unleash unprovoked violence and then they fervently deny doing so. I agree, too, that the meanest thing I can do is cut people from my life. The thing I didn't anticipate is that they'd come back years later and accuse you of causing all their problems. Good luck with the writing, make the block button your friend.
