Yes, generally I try to wear a friendly expression, but it's just impossible to know what kind of traumas other people have been through and that's very sad. I know a lot of women have stories of men acting friendly and saying "Hi" only to have the man flip out if she didn't immediately respond ("What's the matter with you? I was trying to be nice!"). With the dangers that are out there, I don't begrudge any woman who feels she has to walk away from me--and I'm trying to be a positive force.
