Yes, we’re very well programmed. It makes one pause and wonder how often the commandments were “edited” before they ever trickled down to you. This is much of the reason I don’t follow religion.

Colbert asked Ricky Gervais (I think it was), why he was an atheist and he had the best answer. He said if you destroyed all the religious texts, in 1,000 years they’d still be gone. But if you destroyed all the scientific texts, in 1,000 they would have all reemerged.

So, which one of those contains the true word of “God” (if you believe in that sort of thing)?
