You’re right, and that’s an important thing to emphasize. Although, I’m not really satisfied with the narrative of saying the GOP was “trounced.” After all, they won the house and the retained some Senate seats they should have lost (like in Wisconsin). The moderates like to try and claim that the GOP was trounced because it allows them to fabricate a reason why they shouldn’t embrace the progressive policies the general public actually wants. Still, I see your point. I just don’t think we should be satisfied until we get what we want.
